"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered by your old nonsense."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

In case you wondered...
I've been teaching High School English since 1997. I received my undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University in English and Secondary Education with a minor in Shakespearean Theater. I began my Masters work at that same university in Creative Writing. I hold a Masters in Educational Leadership from Walden University (although I have no notion of ever working in administration), and an EdS in Curriculum and Design from Lincoln Memorial University. Although I've taught all over the country, I settled in East Tennessee in February of 2015 and began teaching in Hawkins County, at Cherokee High School in 2015. There I taught Sophomore to Senior English, AP Literature, and Journalism (Yearbook). I made the move to Clinch School in 2021. In 2022, I also took over Clinch School's Yearbook, The Predator.
I have written and published several books, owned a pizzeria, waited a ton of tables, cleaned up after large animals, and held a number of other careers through the years, so it is my hope that I bring a good dose of reality to the classroom.
I am honored to spend my days with your students. If you'd like to discuss your student, please feel free to contact me via e-mail. I promise you I am as excited for your student's success as you are!

2023 Predator Yearbook Sells Out!
We are so excited to announce, that even though we ordered 25 more books this year than last, our team has worked extra hard and we've sold every book!
This is especially exciting because it will allow us to order more books next year! Our goal for 2024 is to put a book in the hand of every Clinch student. We'd love your help with this, so when next year rolls around, look for opportunities to purchase Angel Books for students who might not otherwise be able to afford a book!
Next year:
Order your yearbook by clicking the button below and entering code 25064
